The food. Fantastic! So hard to find good authentic Mexican food with Texmex influence on west side of US!! Cheese dip soooo good, salsa fire, combination plate was sooo on point. Michelada ice cold, perfect flavor! Served fast and HOT! The service, top notch. All three service people stopped by to make sure I was doing great! Really impressed and will be back!

Went for a family lunch at the recommendation of a friend. Holy mole, people. No, no, seriously. If you like Red Iguana's style, this place will rock your world. If that type of authentic Mexican isn't your thing, there's still plenty of variety here for even the pickiest eater. I got the chicken enmoladas - chicken enchiladas smothered in their mole de la casa... it was absolutely delicious. Not too spicy, layered, rich flavor... so amazing. Others in my group got the fresatella pancakes, the O.G. (which, if you have someone in your family with the appetite of a linebacker, this is it), and the smothered breakfast burrito. Even the chips and salsa were fantastic. It's that kind of salsa where you can tell they've roasted the ingredients, and then it's all blended until almost smooth... I'm going to take everyone I know to this place. Pics are the chicken enmoladas and the breakfast burrito (we got it with the chile verde on the side).

I have frequented this restaurant for the past few years with my coworkers and have grown to really love this place! We had not been for a couple months and to my surprise and excitement, they had updated and expanded their menu. Don't get me wrong, their previous menu was solid and had many favorite dishes that my coworkers and I would order every time we visited. But to see so many new items available on the menu was so exciting! Like many Mexican restaurants, you have the option to start the meal off with Chips & Salsa, and I would suggest doing so! Their chips are perfectly seasoned and their salsa has the perfect texture that I prefer - not too chunky and not too thin. I will say, it is on the garlicky side, so be aware! But I love the flavor and cannot stop eating it once I start. Before the revamped menu, I would order the Crispy Shrimp Tacos every time, and I would still suggest those for anyone who loves shrimp! The tortillas are on the bigger side and the shrimp is so crimpy and plump. I love them so much! This time, I decided that it was time to branch out a little bit and tried the Enchiladas Poblanas with Shrimp. This is NOW my new favorite dish! The creamy poblano sauce is absolutely to die for. I want that sauce on everything for the rest of forever. I also added some jalapenos on top which was the perfect touch. The serving size is big, but not overbearing. Perfect for enjoying one enchilada and taking the rest as leftovers (especially after I've overindulged in chips and salsa). I would also suggest getting the side of beans and rice because they're delicious and it would be a shame not to get it! I really love it at Cafe Silvestre! The service is consistently great even when it is busy and we've gone enough that the main server we usually get remembers us every visit! Before the menu changed, she even knew most of our orders! It's a great local Mexican spot that consistently delivers on flavor and experience!

The food feels like homemade food, the waitress was very friendly and explained everything to us, she gave us some sauces to try before ordering our dish, very good customer service.

Loved the steak fajitas. My wife really liked the chili Verde burrito plate. We also got the churro sundae, which my son loved. Staff was very friendly and a big reason we had such a good experience. We will definitely be back. You've made us into fans!!

I wanted to give a five star review but just could not. Atmosphere is good for a dining experience. We were greeted by the bus help and shown directly to a booth. The booth is too low. I’m 5’9” and the table was at shoulder level. I’m overlooking that because I want a good experience. The menu was easy and we made a quick selection. The wait staff, didn’t mention her name, was pleasant and efficient. Chips and a spicy salsa were brought (they only have one kind) and the order was taken. It did not take much time to bring the huge and delicious chopped salad and my taco. My taco fell apart and into the table at first crunch. The booth is too low. I scooped up the remainder of the fresh taco and enjoyed it very much. Shortly thereafter, I got the remainder of the order, enchilada, beans, rice and a salad. The food is good, we enjoyed the food. We did not enjoy using what the bus help referred to as the “silverware”. These utensils were made of some mystery metal resembling aluminum. I was reminded of a WWII bivouac mess kit, not something I would find in a modern restaurant. The utensils are important as they are what we come into physical contact with the food and our mouths. Don’t forget the booth too. I’m disappointed, I wanted a good experience but only got good food. At check out the wait staff presented me with a tip option of 20% or more. I didn’t even know her name. I had more interaction with the bus staff than with her. Hint to wait staff, offer to fill the water glass. We were thirsty too.

Such an awesome place. Our server is the granddaughter of the original owner and told us the history of it. I love that it's still in the family. The food was exceptional. I could make an entire meal of the fresh, homemade tortillas and mole. They keep the original 70s charm but in a fun, not stale way. I live about 4 hours away but I'll definitely be coming back every time I make it to town.
